I was not expecting to go to Oakland to see the protest since I was at work but realized that this was an important event to document. Let’s just say that I was probably the only photographer in a skirt, tights, and a ridiculously big bow on my head. I (obviously) wasn’t wearing the right clothes nor did I have my flash on me otherwise I would have stayed until the end. Still, I did my best to follow the crowd after they dispersed from City Hall – those shots coming tomorrow – but it might not have been a terrible thing that I left. Heard that some cameras were stolen, people were hit, lenses were broken, and there were hundreds of arrests including photographers without credentials – like yours truly. Anyways, I hope everyone in Oakland stays safe.
