Raudiel Sanudo

Raudiel Sanudo

I’m absolutely crazy about Raudiel Sanudo’s paintings. I know this is a “photo” blog but to be a good artist, you must appreciate all forms of art. As for Raudiel, I don’t know if it’s his use of color, the simplicity of his lines, the Mexican symbolism, or just the fact that he is a bad ass but I’m in love with his work. The painting above in particular hits my sweet spot. I need a print asap.

Garry Winogrand prints in Pier 24 – San Francisco

This morning I finally made a trip out to Pier 24 in San Francisco. I only got to spend about an hour in this beautiful space before running off to work but looking at the work of some of my favorite photographers left me tingly with inspiration. There are photos by Diane Arbus, Lee Freelander, and Gary Winogrand…just to name a few. According to the SF Chronicle:

“I have not seen anything like it,” says SFMOMA curator of photography Sandra Phillips, who has seen every major photography repository in the Western world. “There are photography museums, but nothing so spectacular and so personal and so giving to the experience of looking at a photograph. The whole thing is truly unique.”

Read the entire article here and GO VISIT! It’s free and you’ll leave with a whole new appreciation for photography.

… and because I’m feeling inspired – here are some images that I’m in love with right now:
